Here’s another Vividimages regular – it’s always great to see old clients returning often! The studio was chaotic with hats, feather boas, vuvuzelas and all sorts of other props being pulled out of cupboards & draped around bodies. What I LOVE about my job is that it’s never boring – no two days are ever the same! This shoot was done for the new eco-friendly TV programme “The Green Line” that will be aired in February 2010. The team consists of hosts Michelle Garforth-Venter & Luthuli, with Riaan & Max as the DIG team (Do-it-Green). They’re all amazing people & the shoot was great fun. Most women are a little nervous of preggie photos just because they’re so much more intimate than your every day family photos. They involve revealing skin, and that at a time when you may not be feeling your best. The result however is well worth the nerves. Ann & Ola arrived looking a little unsure but soon settled into the mood and I love their photos. For various reasons Janet & I postponed this photo shoot a number of times so it was great to eventually get the van der Merwe family in the studio again! Ashleigh has grown into the most gorgeous little girl and on top of it all she loves posing too! She’s also a Daddy’s girl and has a touch of jealousy when baby brother Tristan gets Dad’s attention but he’s very chilled, taking life in his stride.

The Ellis family is no stranger to our studios however this time they brought Stella (granny) & her whole family (including a large French contingent) with them. The French family members were in SA for a wedding & they thought it would be the ideal opportunity to get some pics of Stella with her “brood”. She protested slightly at first but I get the feeling that secretly she really enjoyed it all. Hope the wedding was wonderful, great to see you all again!

What a stunning wedding!!!! I had SO much fun photographing their day. Often weddings that involve a lot of driving between venues can be quite tiring but the photo venue for this one was exactly the kind of scene I love. The bridesmaids dresses were bright & colourful & the guys had great fun rugby passing the bouquets! My absolute favourite was the grafitti’ed building which together with the bright blue

sky made the perfect backdrop for a truly wonderful couple.

Creative Worx, a graphic design company, booked a studio session on Friday for a fun team activity. Before the make-up artist had applied the first touch of make-up the champagne and strawberries were out and it didn’t take long for all inhibitions to disappear. What followed was an afternoon of modeling and posing – some more than others (you know who you are…) Can’t wait to see your website although you’ll have to keep some of the pics away from the public eye.

I love keeping contact with my clients, especially through the different phases of their lives. I took Sonja & Trevor’s wedding photos a couple of years ago and now they’re back with their son Rhett. He had an ENDLESS bladder and pee’ed on almost every piece of fabric in the studio including Mom & Dad’s clothes but he was still a pleasure to photograph with barely a niggle throughout the whole hour. Janelle & Jedd are American’s working for a non-profit organization in SA. They’re miles away from home & the support network that comes with living close to grandparents but they seem to be doing an amazing job by themselves! Reagan was 8 weeks old when she came for her baby shoot so she was wide awake & happy during the shoot, even giving us the occasional smile. Considering her age it was HIGHLY unlikely that she’d fall asleep for us to get the sleepy shots BUT….she did!

Little Thoriso is a character. He has an opposite dimple to his Mom’s making a matching pair and he’s full of energy. Often a 4 month old will need to take a little time-out during the shoot to regain their sense of humour but he didn’t need any of that so we kept the camera rolling.

Last Saturday the studio was in chaos!! Erin celebrated her 11^th birthday and brought along a crowd of her friends for a photo shoot. They started off a little camera-shy but within minutes the room was filled with squeals of laughter and the feather boa’s were flying! Fred & Dee just bubbled with enthusiasm about little Angelia. She’s a teeny little thing, but SO cute! The last time I saw Matt & Mariana she was pregnant – for the first time! Their life has changed dramatically over the past few years, but it seems it’s all been worth it. Big groups are always a little hectic but lots of fun – especially when they involve lots of children! Elizma arrived with all of her children and grandchildren and we had an hour of action-packed activity with a good dose of giggles thrown in. The little children really got into the spirit of it all with ballet dances, karate chops and plenty of jumping but the “big children” seemed to have fun too. I think I had the most fun of all trying to capture all the action!

The first time Sam & Greg brought Justin into the studio he was just a couple of weeks old and he screamed for half the shoot. Luckily he’s outgrown that & now absolutely loves the camera – he even loves checking his photos after each shot! He’s a bundle of energy and that toothy grin melts every heart in the room. Sam & Justin had so much fun with him and got plenty of loves & kisses too.

At the end of the shoot we decided to do a few naked shots which are always my favourites.

Little Ethan is growing up fast! He’s a real boy, one of those robust, strong kiddies that strangers will never mistake for being a girl. The most amusing part of this shoot was watching Dad jump around behind me trying to get smiles – which he did! Sometimes I think I should have a video camera filming all the antics. Brian and Sally celebrated their wedding at Casalinga last weekend during a very intimate, private ceremony. They make a wonderful couple & giggled together the whole way through the couple session. Their daughter -Caitlin- was so well behaved and three year old Stefan looked gorgeous in his tux, and he was a very willing poser too! For my first Pick of the week, i have chosen this image of Jacqui's. I came across this gorgeous picture while designing her family's most recent holiday book.

What Jax has to say: This picure was taken while in Albufeira, Portugal. It was early evening & while walking back to her "pension" she saw this beggar sitting under a streetlight playing a harmonica & knew it was a moment that had to be captured.

She was armed with her Nikon D300, and a 18-200mm lens.

Joshua was the perfect age for a photo shoot. He can sit beautifully but hasn’t started moving yet. He loved all the action around him & occasionally gave us a beaming smile.

He even looked good in his kilt! Congrats Ian & Alison on such a wonderful son, hope you love the photos!

What a fun day in the studio! I've known Suzanne for a long time - I photographed her wedding & a couple of family shoots - but it was great to meet the whole family this year. Teenage boys aren't always keen for photo shoots but they warmed up & made fun of each other as they went along. Hope to see you on your next trip out Suzanne!

Jacqui and her team at Vividimages Photography were the epitomy of professionalism before, during and after my wedding. Jacqui is very easy to get along with, and totally accommodating of any ideas that a bride has for her big day. She came dressed smartly so she didn't stand out amongst the guests, she arrived on time and took a lot more photos that I could have imagined her having time to take. My photos were delivered a week after I arrived back from honeymoon in a beautiful presentation box, edited, some in sepia and black & white, and of outstanding quality.
